About

Gissendanner Photography, Inc. has been in the business of producing high quality portraiture, wedding, and commercial photography in the Charleston area for over 25 years. Kim Gissendanner has photographed over 2000 weddings and events has been practicing his craft of award winning portraiture and wedding photography for over 25 years. As one of Charleston's Premier Studios, Gissendanner Photography, Inc. has employed up to 6 people and was equipped for digital and conventional film-based photography. The studio specialized in photojournalistic weddings and creative portraiture. Types of portraiture offered include children and family portraits, High School Senior photography, Couples and relationship portraits, Expectant Moments Maternity Portraits, and Glamour and Boudoir Photography Sessions. Other types of photography offered included model and acting portfolios, business headshots, and commercial photography. The studio also offered graphic design of finished products ranging from custom albums, DVD's, brochures, and point of purchase materials.  It has been a privilege to be selected by clients to capture the memories from some of the most important times of their lives. In our photography we have strived to create stirring images that reflect the relationships and interaction between families and friends.

As an innovator Gissendanner Photography was one of the first studios in the area to embrace digital technology for capturing images.  ironically, many of the iconic images that the studio produced, were made by conventional analog techniques, skill, and experience rather than relying on digital tricks and computer manipulation.

In 2008, due to a changing economy and an interest in other pursuits, a decision was made to close the store front studio.  The studio continued to operate on location until 2014 when a decision was made to retire from photographing events in pursuit of other interest.

We would like to thank our many wonderful clients from the Low Country who supported our art and work for so many years.
